The victory marks Jey's first-ever reign as a singles champion in the company. Previously, he has failed to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and even the Intercontinental Championship.
On Twitter/X, Wade Barrett reacted to Jey's win from Monday Night RAW. The 44-year-old is a heel commentator on RAW. However, he couldn't help but appreciate Jey's win.
"I’ve been in a lot of arenas, but I’ve genuinely never seen one so COMPLETELY unified with happiness and elation like when Jey @WWEUsos got the dub tonight. Even the cold-blooded haters like me enjoyed it. A spine-tingling moment. Congrats Uce! WWERAW," wrote Barrett.
For months, Jey Uso has been the most popular and over superstar on the Monday Night RAW roster. Since transitioning from SmackDown to RAW, he has elevated himself to a new level.
The WWE Intercontinental Championship has been held by several members of Jey's family, including his legendary father, Rikishi. The Rock, Roman Reigns, and the late great Umaga also won the title throughout their careers.
It remains to be seen how Jey's title reign will unfold in the coming weeks.
