WWE News: Dixie Carter congratulates The Hardy Boyz

The Hardys won their 8th Tag team Championships in the WWE at WrestleMania 33

What’s the story?

The Hardy Boyz returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 33 and competed in the Fatal Four Way Ladder match for the RAW Tag team titles. The Hardys then outlasted the teams of Sheamus and Cesaro, Enzo and Cass, and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to win the RAW Tag team Championships.

Former TNA President Dixie Carter took to Twitter to congratulate the new RAW Tag team Champions, Matt and Jeff Hardy.

In case you didn’t know

After leaving WWE, both Matt and Jeff Hardy had been active members of the TNA/Impact Wrestling roster. The two were not only former TNA Tag team Champions but their ‘Broken’ gimmick attracted the attention of many other pro-wrestling fans towards the promotion.

The heart of the matter

Dixie Carter’s Tweet congratulating both the Hardy Boyz is as follows:

The Hardys’ contract with Impact Wrestling expired in February 2016 and they decided not to renew their deal with the promotion. Matt and Jeff Hardy then signed a short deal with Ring of Honor and went on to defeat the Young Bucks for the ROH Tag team Championships.

At Supercard of Honor XI, The Young Bucks defeated The Hardys and regained the ROH Tag titles. After the match, Matt and Jeff Hardy ‘put over’ Matt and Nick Jackson as the future of the tag team wrestling and claimed that it was time for the Hardys to fade away.
