Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk inside Hell in a Cell at WWE Bad Blood 2024 was undoubtedly one of the best matches featured on television this year. From storytelling to the insane match both men had, and then the way they sold the after-effects, everything seemed perfect.

The Hell in a Cell match marked the end of the Drew McIntyre - CM Punk saga, with both men leaving the State Farm Arena all bruised and battered. Both men used everything they had to take each other down, but Punk eventually ended up victorious.

In a recent episode of the Jim Cornette's Drive-Thru, Cornette discussed how other wrestling promotions feature matches like this regularly on TV. The veteran explained how WWE's programming featuring fewer matches like this made the Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood so great and exciting. The veteran felt that WWE avoided the mistake that some other promotions make by featuring such matches and spots too often.

"Can you imagine how this would get over if you didn't have a bunch of underneath guys, midcard guys, and outright children doing this stuff in every promotion five times a week?" asked Cornette. [5:06 onwards]

Is AJ Styles angry? A former WWE legend thinks so.

He further added:

"Because when sh*t like this was done sparingly in a big match with the main event guys, that's when the people were going out of their fu**ing minds. They were with this, but it used to get a bigger reaction because it wasn't so commonplace," stated Jim Cornette [5:20 onwards]

CM Punk's next big feud confirmed?

CM Punk made an appearance this week in the red brand, 48 hours after going through hell at Bad Blood. The Best in the World, after stating that he was uncertain about his future in the squared circle, came face-to-face with the Visionary, Seth Rollins. While both men didn’t interact, it was a clear hint that Punk could feud with the Visionary once he returned.

A recent report revealed that WWE has plans to book Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk at WrestleMania 41. With that said, it would be very intriguing to see how things heat up between both men once the 45-year-old marks his comeback.
