Former WWE champion returns after 14 weeks; debuts new character

Tegan Nox's injury last week on NXT meant that Natalya was without a tag team partner for her match against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven on WWE RAW.

Natalya ultimately chose Nikki Cross as her partner, but instead of helping her in the match, the latter stood on the apron and was locked in a trance. This led to Nattie losing the match after Green was able to hit the Un-Prettier, leaving her in a handicap situation.

It's unclear why Cross was locked in a trance, but she has had some interesting characters throughout her WWE career, and it could be another link to this, or someone could be controlling Cross. There were no clues regarding this character on RAW, but if this is a lengthy storyline, it could be a slow burn.

Cross has been appearing on Main Event over the past few weeks and hasn't wrestled since taking on Shayna Baszler ahead of her match with Ronda Rousey in July. Cross has been pushing for her return online, and her new character seems intriguing enough to ensure she is on WWE TV in the coming weeks.
