A former WWE champion emerged victorious in his most recent in-ring appearance at Worlds Collide. Surprisingly, it was the star's first win in nearly 10 months.

In one of the two six-man tag team matches of the night, WWE's Legado del Fantasma locked horns with El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Clown. The SmackDown faction delivered an incredible performance to outdo their opponents and ensure Santos Escobar gets his first victory since August 2024.

Santos Escobar's last win was against Andrade in a number one contender's match for the United States Championship on the August 9, 2024, edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Unfortunately, the 41-year-old failed to capture the title when he faced the champion, LA Knight, later that month.

Since his last win, the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion had lost six televised matches, including two US Title Matches against LA Knight. Escobar's most recent loss was against Rey Fenix on the May 2, 2025, edition of the blue brand.

WWE has been teasing Legado Del Fantasma's implosion for several weeks, with Santos Escobar being visibly upset with Angel and Berto's recent performances. It remains to be seen if this win at Worlds Collide will help the stable internally.
