WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg believes there is no chance he would join AEW despite having talks with Tony Khan.

The 57-year-old left WWE after his contract expired in 2022. In his last match, he lost to Roman Reigns in a Universal Championship match at Crown Jewel in February of that same year. Since his departure, the former World Heavyweight Champion has stepped away from professional wrestling.

In a recent interview with 93.7 The Ticket, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked whether he ever had talks with Tony Khan to join AEW. Goldberg disclosed that he did talk with AEW's co-owner. However, he claimed he would not sign with the promotion because the product was "too cheesy."

"I've talked to him a number of times throughout the past. But, you know, and this is where you're gonna get the most blunt answer you're gonna get from me. The product is too cheesy. The product is too cheesy. It doesn't deserve to have, I mean, whatever, I mean, now you're really gonna get me going, but if there was a comparable viable option as a competitor that would allow me to still look myself in the mirror after I was a member of their roster, yeah. Then it would be a consideration. But not a chance," he said. [16:57 - 17:37]

Did WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg retire from wrestling?

The former World Heavyweight Champion has been inactive for over two years. Hence, many fans questioned whether the 57-year-old would ever return to in-ring competition.

In a recent interview with Drinkin' Bros Studios, the Hall of Famer gave an update on his wrestling future, revealing that he has not retired from in-ring action.

"When you're a professional wrestler by trade, you never retire until you're dead. I've been asked a couple of times but it's hard to break me away from... I've been hanging on the sidelines for four years with my son. My wife and I moved here for the sole reason of watching my son grow up in unbelievable surroundings, and it's been fabulous," he said.

While Goldberg does not seem interested in joining AEW, it would be interesting to see if the Hall of Famer would return to the Stamford-based company under the new regime.
