Gunther shocked the world when he recaptured the World Heavyweight Championship on WWE RAW from Jey Uso. However, The Ring General addressed his win and mentioned Goldberg starting his second reign as the champion.
On the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, Gunther proved himself once again when he defeated Jey Uso in the main event and captured the World Heavyweight Championship for the second time in his career on the red brand. While the win came as a shock, The Ring General had one more thing to add after the show.
In an exclusive on RAW Recap, the current World Heavyweight Champion addressed his shocking win over Jey Uso and surprisingly name-dropped Goldberg, who everyone thought would've appeared to cost him the match. The Ring General addressed his dominant win after the show.
"I guess going in, it got perceived as a little bit of a nothing match, just a Mania rematch. And everybody was speculating that Seth Rollins is going to do something with his briefcase. Goldberg is going to show up to finally kick my a**. The reality is, when I was World Heavyweight Champion the first time, all those big names, they stayed away from me, and for a very good reason, because ever since I arrived in this company, I've been the most dominating guy around here," Gunther said. What happened between Gunther and Goldberg in WWE?
Last year, Gunther was in his first reign as the World Heavyweight Champion when he crossed paths with Goldberg. The Ring General appeared at Bad Blood in Atlanta, where he taunted the former Universal Champion in front of his family.
The WWE Hall of Famer jumped the barricade and wanted to confront the champion before security stopped him. Since then, the two have addressed each other but haven't gotten inside the square circle for a bout.
With Goldberg's rumored appearance and final match at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event in Atlanta, the two heavyweights could finally clash inside the ring before the Hall of Famer retires from in-ring competition.
