The landscape of WWE RAW changed after Money in the Bank as Gunther became a two-time World Heavyweight Champion. The Ring General took a moment to break character and praise the former champion, Jey Uso.
On the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, Gunther did the impossible and redeemed his loss from WrestleMania 41 by making Jey Uso pass out and reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship. The outcome was unexpected, but The Ring General did something even more surprising after the win.
In an exclusive on RAW Recap, the new World Heavyweight Champion addressed his win over Jey Uso. Sam Roberts asked him about the former champion and the challenges he faced before becoming a two-time World Heavyweight Champion. To everyone's surprise, Gunther broke character and praised Main Event Jey.
"[Did you feel like you were beating a World Heavyweight Champion?] Oh yeah, for sure. I've said it before; I've got to give it to Jey Uso. I think everybody that is heading into a match with me is considered the underdog, especially Jey before WrestleMania 41, because I've beaten him three-four times before that (...) And I've got to give it to him; I think he stepped up. I think he fulfilled a lot of hopes and expectations that people had in him," Gunther said. (From 08:45 to 09:26)
