Nikki Bella's husband Artem Chigvintsev was arrested on August 29 after being accused of domestic violence. Legendary wrestling reporter Bill Apter and WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long did not hold back while giving their takes on the recent developments.
Nikki Bella, now known as Nikki Garcia, married Chigvintsev in 2022 and has a four-year-old son with the professional dancer. According to TMZ, the former WWE star has been looking for a divorce lawyer since the alleged incident. She has also been pictured without a wedding ring.
Speaking to Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine host Mac Davis, Apter made it clear that domestic violence should be taken seriously:
"It just shouldn't happen whether you're a celebrity or not. It's the lowest form of being a human being. Any kind of domestic violence, whether it be the man or the woman." [4:24 – 4:38]

Teddy Long on Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Bella's situation
In May, CNN obtained footage from 2016 of rapper Sean Combs (fka P Diddy) assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel.
Using that incident as an example, Teddy Long added that there is no excuse for anyone to commit domestic violence:
"Here's the thing, it's out there plain as day, you already know what kind of trouble you're gonna get in if you put your hands on a woman. We've all seen the tape on this guy, the rapper, P Diddy, we saw the way he dragged the woman all across the floor in his hotel room. That's been out there, so don't you tell me that you don't know better and you don't know what's going on. If you gotta put your hands on a woman, then that's pretty bad." [4:39 – 5:06]
Nikki Bella met Artem Chigvintsev in 2017 when she appeared on the American television show Dancing with the Stars. They began dating in 2019.
