Jade Cargill breaks silence after major non-WWE announcement

Jade Cargill has officially confirmed her film debut. She acknowledged the news of her role along with 35-year-old Jonathan Majors in 'True Threat' on 13 June 2025 via Instagram and on X.

Since debuting in WWE after her impressive spell with AEW, Cargill quickly rose through the ranks. Her WrestleMania victory over Naomi marked a high point in her in-ring career.

According to Deadline, she’s set to play Meeka, one of the lead villains in the movie. Jonathan Majors plays special forces agent Vernon Threat, who fights a Harlem gang and seeks justice for his son's death in the movie. Cargill’s character, Meeka, is a high-ranking member of the Apollo Kids gang and plays a major role in the story.

Cargill broke her silence since the announcement of her acting debut with a thunderbolt emoji on X.

The former two-time Women's Tag Team Champion had a standout performance at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, is now playing a major role in a movie that showcases her powerful presence.

She received praise from director Gerard McMurray for her athleticism, confidence, and strength. Cargill brings past screen experience too, having appeared on TV shows like Rhodes to the Top and Celebrity Family Feud.

WWE’s rumored plans for Jade Cargill at Evolution 2025

WWE hasn't involved Jade Cargill in any of its storylines for WWE Evolution 2025 as of now.

However, PWInsider Elite reports that the company is building a slow but steady storyline for Cargill, and Naomi's Money in the Bank win is probably a part of it. The two women could face each other at Evolution, which will be their second match if it is booked.

If Naomi beats Jade Cargill at Evolution, it would set up a trilogy between the two, potentially concluding at a future Premium Live Event.

The Naomi-Cargill feud started in 2025, after she returned at the start of the Women's Elimination Chamber match to destroy Naomi and rule her out of the bout.
