Jey Uso defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther on the latest episode of WWE RAW. His 51-day title reign came to a surprising end in the main event of the show.
Before Saturday Night's Main Event, it was announced that The Ring General would face the winner of The Yeet Master vs. Logan Paul for the coveted title on an episode of the red brand. With Jey's victory over The Maverick, his next challenger was confirmed.
During the title match, Jey Uso hit a crossbody, but Gunther kicked out. Jey was favoring his midsection, and the commentators noted that he might be hurt from the Tsunamis that Bronson Reed gave him last week. The Ring General noticed it and started targeting the injured area.
He hit Jey with a suplex and ripped off the latter's bandages. Jey Uso planted Gunther with a suplex and went for a spear, but got locked in a sleeper. He escaped and sent his opponent into the steel post. The Ring General suplexed Jey onto the floor. The Yeet Master nailed the heel with a spear and a splash for a nearfall. Gunther hit a powerbomb for another nearfall.
Both stars tried to submit each other with sleeper holds. Gunther locked one on Jey, and he passed out. The referee rang the bell, and The Ring General was declared the new World Heavyweight Champion.
