WWE Superstar Jey Uso had his maiden Intercontinental Championship defense against Xavier Woods this week on Monday Night RAW. The Yeet Master had turned the Enterprise Arena of St. Louis into ‘St. Lou Yeet’ with the hype behind his spectacular singles run. Following the uproar of fans and a big win, The Uce recently sent a message to Samantha Irvin following an emotional moment.
The official ring announcer of WWE RAW is often praised across the pro wrestling industry for her charged announcements, which often emotionally resonate with the fans. This week, she announced Jey Uso as the reigning and defending Intercontinental Champion for his first title match.
Moreover, the IC Champion and Irvin even shared a fist bump while she was announcing his name. Moved by this, Jey added a story on Instagram and added a two-word message praising her.
“THE SENSATIONAL @SAMANTHAIRVINWWE.”

Needless to say, this was another big moment in Jey’s career for which he waited 14 long years. Although he secured a victory and got his props from Samantha Irvin, he was seemingly disrespected by two former WWE champions on RAW.
Jey Uso talks about the unexpected disrespect he received on RAW
Jey Uso is one of the biggest babyfaces in WWE right now and harbors a keen sense of sportsmanship. Following his win, he held out his hand to The New Day. While Kofi Kingston gladly shook the hand of Mr. Yeet, his challenger, Xavier Woods, walked out on him. On top of it, he was also attacked by the previous IC titleholder, Bron Breakker.
The Uce didn’t expect this disrespectful behavior from Woods since he had a high opinion of him. Moreover, he didn’t expect Breakker to ambush him after he had personally congratulated him for the title win right after he was dethroned last week. Speaking to RAW Talk’s Jackie Redmond, Jey said that The Dog had finally exposed his true colors.
“I really thought he was showing respect. I really thought he was giving me my props. I really thought he thought I was a better man that night. I would have respected him for sure right back and gave him another rematch, but you know, he's showing his true colors, you know he popped off on me at the end of the match. You know I didn't see it coming late in the year, my homies all the way out, but it's all good, we're gonna run it back." [1:15 - 1:35]
Jey Uso also said that Bron Breakker using the spear, which was the finisher used by him and his cousin Roman Reigns felt very disrespectful. It would be interesting to see what lies ahead for The Yeet Master with The Dog wanting his title back.
