An absent WWE Superstar recently shared a cryptic message on social media ahead of the upcoming edition of Monday Night RAW. The name in question is Gable Steveson.

The 23-year-old signed with WWE in 2021, becoming only the second Olympic gold medalist to ink a deal with the Stamford-based company after Kurt Angle. Steveson has been absent from television since his match against Baron Corbin at The Great American Bash in July 2023.

Despite his absence from TV, the Olympic gold medalist was reportedly in Philadelphia during WrestleMania XL week earlier this month. He recently took to Instagram to share a cryptic message. Gable posted multiple pictures with an interesting message in the caption:

"All is good. About to be better!" he wrote.

Olympic gold medalist criticizes Gable Steveson for joining WWE

Gable Steveson won a gold medal in the super heavyweight division of freestyle wrestling at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo in 2021. Despite this major achievement, he decided to join the Stamford-based company.

In the latest episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast, former UFC multi-division champion Henry Cejudo accused WWE of allegedly not allowing Steveson to appear at the Olympic trials. He further criticized the latter for giving up his career as a freestyle wrestler to join the professional wrestling promotion:

"A guy like Gable Steveson, they're going to regret them giving like the best of their youth away to chasing entertainment and money. Like Gable Steveson, at the age of 21, I have never seen a heavyweight move like that. I'm like, 'This dude can go out and win another gold medal, set himself apart from the rest.' But now (...) the WWE is not allowing him to go to the Olympic trials because he has Tuesday night SmackDown. Like how stupid is that for these guys to make that decision and give away their youth," he said.

Cejudo himself won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2008 Olympics. The 37-year-old later joined UFC and won titles in two different weight divisions. It remains to be seen if Steveson will experience similar success after venturing into professional wrestling.
