R-Truth shocked the world when he appeared on WWE RAW this week and cut off his hair, announcing that he was now Ron Killings.

The former champion noted that he was no longer a gimmick and went on to push for his fans to put some respect on his name, seemingly confirming his first heel turn in years.

It seems that the decision was made for Ron Killings to say farewell to the R-Truth character, and in doing so, he has followed in the footsteps of his childhood hero John Cena, with both men turning heel within months of each other.

It is also worth noting that WWE has dropped new merchandise for R-Truth under the Ron Killings name, with the tagline "Killings Spree," which does seem as though it could be his new gimmick and one similar to "The Legend Killer" that Randy Orton once used.

Will Ron Killings go on a Killings Spree in WWE?

This does appear like it could be an interesting heel gimmick for Truth if this is the way the company has decided to book him following his return. Last night's promo was another passionate one from the former 24/7 Champion, and he could now be forced to portray a character for the first time in months.

While R-Truth was a persona and Ron Killings is his real name, Truth was clearly being himself while he was in that role. Now that he has been given a gimmick, he will be forced to portray a character and work as a heel, which will be a complete swerve from what he once was.

Cutting his hair off was a massive shock, and his videos have already amassed more views than CM Punk and John Cena's opening segment, which shows that the WWE Universe is invested.
