Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Ilja Dragunov's career on the main roster. The star currently performs on Monday Night RAW.
This week on RAW, Braun Strowman, Jey Uso, Ilja Dragunov, and Pete Dunne battled in a bid to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship. Strowman was neutralized by an interfering Bronson Reed. Jey then attacked Dragunov and hit the Uso Splash for the win.
This week on Legion of RAW, Russo questioned Dragunov's moves during the match. He pointed out that the star's moveset looked very crisp and rehearsed. He felt it was not believable and nobody would fight like that in a real-world scenario.
"When I talk about the last two minutes when Pete Dunne and Dragunov were in there, Dragunov was doing these moves that were so crisp. Ridiculously unnecessary. Every time he hit him, he was doing the spin punch gimmick. Then he bounces off the ropes, came through. You're really gonna do that in a real fight bro? Seriously?" [From 56:53 onwards]

Dragunov has had a mixed time on the main roster so far, with some wins and losses on the red brand. However, he hasn't won a title yet on the flagship show.
It will be interesting to see if the Mad Dragon can rake up some wins in the coming weeks.
