WWE News: Rob Van Dam reveals why he didn't return to WWE in 2015

RVD has not featured on WWE programming since 2014

Rob Van Dam was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated, where he spoke mostly about his career. He was asked about WWE reaching out to him in late 2015 to be involved in the ECW legends vs The Wyatts feud.

The original plan was to have Rob Van Dam return to join The Dudley Boyz and Tommy Dreamer to take on The Wyatt family. It was reported at the time that RVD had turned down the offer.

In the interview, RVD denied having turned the offer down and said that the two parties simply could not come to an agreement.

As a result of this, Rhyno had ended up being the 4th member of the ECW Legends team to take on The Wyatt Family. However, before he did so, Tommy Dreamer, the heart and soul of ECW joined to help his old friends.

“The crowd’s reaction to what we were doing was a huge part of the show, but we were also reacting to them,”

RVD’s last run in the WWE was between 2013 to 2014. He participated in the Money In The Bank ladder match in both 2013 and 2014 and even challenged for the World Heavyweight Championship and the Intercontinental Championship multiple times.

During his last run with the WWE, he helped put a lot of the younger talent over and even went down to NXT to do the same. On November 12th, RVD defeated Lucha Underground’s Pentagon Jr. to become the PCW Heavyweight champion.
