"She really helped me out" - Former champion claims released WWE Superstar helped her a lot behind the scenes

The Women
The Women's Tag Team Championships were recently vacated.

A former champion credits a released WWE Superstar for helping her a lot during her career.

The women's tag team division is in an interesting place following the injury to Liv Morgan. Due to Liv's shoulder injury, the Women's Tag Team Championships have been vacated, and there will be a Fatal Four-Way match on the May 29 edition of the red brand. Raquel and a mystery partner will battle Damage CTRL's Bayley and IYO SKY, Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green, and Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.

Shayna Baszler used to be in a tag team with Nia Jax and recently praised the former WWE Superstar.

"I had a lot of fun teaming up with Nia [Jax]. She really helped me out when I didn't know anyone. I had just come up here. We decided to team up, and she actually really helped me out a lot behind the scenes, too, like 'knowing the ropes,' as they say. I enjoyed it because I did get to show a different side of me that I didn't get to really show in NXT," said Shayna Baszler. [H/T: Fightful]

Shayna Baszler on her wild journey to WWE

Shayna Baszler took an interesting path to get to WWE and had a career in Mixed Martial Arts before she joined the promotion.

She finished her MMA career with a record of 15-11 before joining NXT in 2017. The Queen of Spades was dominant in WWE's developmental promotion and captured the NXT Women's Championship twice. She is yet to hold a singles title on the main roster but did win the Women's Tag Team Championships twice with Nia Jax.

Speaking with Emily Mae in an exclusive interview for Sportskeeda Wrestling, Baszler detailed her journey to WWE and noted that she has come into her own as a superstar.

"I think it's just a matter of a) getting more comfortable being in the ring in front of an audience like that and just the differences between this and MMA which is a whole other podcast of things, but I think really deciding to come into my own and make things mine. It's been wild."
