The 43-year-old has had his share of rivalry with The Best in The World. The latter replaced Barrett as the new leader of The Nexus in 2011. After being replaced at the top, the former Intercontinental Champion was exiled from the faction.

Wade Barrett recently took to X/Twitter to fire shots at The Second City Saint. He reshared WWE's post about CM Punk's merchandise, questioning the merch department about the latter's Nexus T-shirt. He further threatened to slap someone on Friday. Barrett also mentioned his long-time friend and Punk's rival Drew McIntyre.

CM Punk is currently feuding with former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre

CM Punk returned to WWE after a decade at Survivor Series: War Games 2023. Despite being involved in several storylines, the former World Heavyweight Champion has yet to compete in a televised singles match since.

Punk entered a heated rivalry with the then-World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins upon his arrival. The two veteran performers were featured in multiple segments teasing a potential WrestleMania match. However, Punk sustained a triceps injury at the hands of Drew McIntyre in the Men's Royal Rumble match.

The unfortunate injury forced CM Punk out of action, marking the beginning of his rivalry with The Scottish Warrior. The former has cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship on several occasions. He even sabotaged the latter's attempt to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, allowing Damian Priest to retain his title.

After the failed cash-in attempt, a frustrated Drew McIntyre laid his hands on officials and accidentally pushed RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. Consequently, he was fined and suspended with immediate effect. It remains to be seen if the suspension is lifted to set up his much-awaited clash with Punk at SummerSlam.
