"They are booking a lot of cr*p that doesn't matter," former writer harshly criticizes disappointing WWE RAW before SummerSlam (Exclusive)

WWE RAW's final show before SummerSlam 2024 saw interesting developments in several storylines on the red brand. Still, former head writer Vince Russo criticized the creative team for not focusing enough on the upcoming Premium Live Event.

Vince Russo reviewed the latest edition of WWE RAW and argued that the presentation of wrestling has dramatically changed in the modern era. He stated that the Triple H-run company wishes fans to forget how the babyfaces and heels were presented, especially on the weekly shows before their big matches on a PLE.

Russo discussed the booking of the show in depth on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW and noted how the top feuds that will see a huge match unfold at SummerSlam 2024 did not get enough attention. Instead, the red brand saw several other rivalries take center stage on the red brand's final showing before the Biggest Party of the Summer.

Vince Russo stated that the WWE creative team lacked structure and did not include writers. Instead, the show is being booked by wrestlers who end up sacrificing the big things for unnecessary segments on the shows. He unleashed heavy criticism on this week's WWE RAW and said:

"Here's the most important thing about being a writer and writing. And I am just about to write my third book, bro, so it's not just about the television show, the wrestling; it's across the board. Here's the number one thing, the most important thing being a writer. Structure. There is none, bro, they are not writers. They are wrestlers. They are booking a lot of cr*p that doesn't matter."

He continued:

"There is zero structure. Chris, I am still writing my shows and I got them here the same exact way. Here is the PPV card, I have got four, five weeks of television and I am working towards this card. That's structure. Is every match on the PPV represented on the TV show? Go down and check, it's represented. There is no structure here, Chris, zero." [42:00 - 43:08]
