Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently shared his thoughts on how the R-Truth situation has panned out. The star showed up as a surprise at Money in the Bank.
Just a few days after Truth announced that WWE had opted to let go of him once his deal expired, the veteran wrestler made a surprise appearance at Money in the Bank. After his appearance, speculations regarding his release started flooding social media.
This week on Legion of RAW, Vince Russo explained that the entire R-Truth saga happened because of fans. He noted that letting Truth go was probably WWE's decision, but the higher management brought him back because of the hue and cry from fans. The veteran writer added that most of Triple H's booking decisions were based on what the WWE Universe demanded. Russo felt The Game needed to focus on his ideas rather than letting fans dictate the show.
"Okay, so the R-Truth thing when that was one hundred percent a good, solid, plausible business decision. I'm a fan of R-Truth, but that was strictly business, and I think that was a good business decision. So you had that. We had Jey Uso tonight. He had Lyra Valkyria with two weeks of, 'What, what, what.' Took the belt off her. Listen, man, you['ve] got Nikki Bella now and Liv. You know they're going to wind up booing Nikki Bella? So what do we do at that point? We get rid of Nikki Bella? My God, Triple H, you've got to stop letting this crowd have such an influence on your freaking booking, man." [From 4:30 onwards]
During the post-Money in the Bank press conference, Triple H mentioned that it was all ''part of the show.'' However, several accounts, including Truth himself, stated that it was not a work.
