Bret Hart came out as advertised for the Monday Night RAW in Calgary. The question was always about who would confront him, and the answer was none other than Gunther. The Ring General trolled The Hitman and nearly broke character on RAW.
This week on RAW, Gunther initially appeared to flatter Bret Hart but took things a step further. While he was a fan favorite in Berlin, the World Heavyweight Champion was happy to embrace the hatred against him in Calgary, Canada.
Gunther called Bret Hart his second favorite behind his all-time favorite, Bill Goldberg. This drew the crowd's ire as The Ring General brutally trolled The Hitman. In case you didn't know, Hart has repeatedly commented against Goldberg in interviews, making it clear how little he thinks of him as a performer.
For our younger audience, the story between Hart and Golberg is long. During a match at WCW's Starrcade 1999, Bill hit Bret with a Mule Kick to the head - directly resulting in the end of his career.
In Goldberg's defense, he has stated remorse before but has little reason to keep apologizing. Fans seem to enjoy engaging in banter that involves him trolling Goldberg.
Amid all this, Sami Zayn came out to defend his home country legend on RAW.
