A WWE veteran shared his thoughts on R-Truth's (aka Ron Killings) shocking return at Money in the Bank 2025, just days after he announced his release. Matt Hardy stated that WWE had no choice but to bring Truth back following the massive backlash that the company received from fans.
Truth's release was met with widespread backlash, and many fans were not happy about it at all. The WWE Universe believed that Truth was a lifer and would serve as a backstage figure following his retirement.
The backlash was so massive that WWE ended up bringing R-Truth back in a matter of days. He attacked John Cena during the final moments of Money in the Bank 2025, receiving loud applause from the fans in attendance. "I think that the backlash showed just how much he is loved, how much he's adored. There was so much outrage towards WWE for just like letting him go like that, that they kinda forced their hand, and they were forced to bring him back. It blew my mind that he just wasn't in WWE, that they wouldn't find some way to keep him around. R-Truth changed his look shortly after his return
The post-Money in the Bank RAW saw Truth cutting an intense promo on the announce table while cutting his hair in the process. Truth reportedly demanded that WWE let him use the Ron Killings moniker during his current run, which explains the name change.
It remains to be seen what Triple H and WWE have planned for R-Truth now that he's back in the company. He's all set to face John Cena again in the upcoming episode of SmackDown.
