His popularity rose so much that he was being cheered by the fans despite being a heel. At Money in the Bank, he turned babyface for the first time in his WWE career after he turned on Solo Sikoa, stopping him from winning the Money in the Bank briefcase.
While talking about the United States Champion on the latest WrestleVotes Q&A on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, WrestleVotes addressed the problem WWE might face with Fatu's booking. He said the massive fan support he has could be the undoing of the 33-year-old.

"My main question coming out of this is how serious are they going to push Jacob Fatu as a babyface. If they get behind him, I think the fans will join that and he can shoot up the card really really quick and I'm not sure they want that speed behind it if that makes sense. I'm interested to see how this plays out now that he's a babyface cause he's already got a lot of support." [23:46 onwards]

Having turned on Solo, Jacob Fatu now seems set to be involved in a programme against his former Bloodline leader. The storyline will potentially see Fatu face Solo and JC Matteo at some point in the future. It'll also be interesting to see who the Tongans side with once they return from injury.
