WWE Veteran Dutch Mantell recently commented on the history of names he was assigned in the wrestling industry, stating that he was given the name Zeb Colter by Road Dogg. Mantell further mentioned that devising a name for such a character suited the Hall of Famer given his time in the U.S. Marine Corps and him being a part of Operation Desert Storm in 1991.

During his last run in WWE, Dutch Mantell played a politically conservative character while managing "The Real Americans" featuring Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro. Mantell later managed Alberto Del Rio under the same name as the former WWE star dethroned John Cena for the United States Championship at Hell in a Cell 2015.

On the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell sat down with Rick Ucchino to recap the latest episodes of WWE SmackDown and AEW Rampage. Speaking about wrestling names in light of the recent character development Pete Dunne went through, Mantell had the following to say about his name Zeb Colter and how it links with Road Dogg's military past:

"I was uncle Zeb at first and then when I came back, I was Zeb Colter and I think that was taken from Ann Coulter. I think Road Dogg gave me that name but we spelled that name differently. Road Dogg did that because he's pretty well politically oriented. He fought in Desert Storm. He's got some great stories about Desert Storm. They put him in the desert and he stood there for four to five months. They didn't go anywhere. He just stood out in the desert. Go to the tent every night, go to the mess hall and that's all he ever did." [19:22 - 20:08]
