WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis may have to take strict action against one of his champions. The GM could punish the concerned champion by taking the title away from him for not defending the belt in over 30 days. Thus, Jacob Fatu could be facing the risk of losing the United States Championship.

The Stamford-based promotion has a longstanding rule that all titles need to be put on the line for challengers on the roster. The last time Jacob Fatu had defended his title, he had to overcome three other challengers in a Fatal Four-Way match against LA Knight, Drew McIntyre, and Damian Priest on May 10, 2025. Thus, on the next episode of SmackDown, which falls on June 13, a total of 34 days would have passed without Fatu having defended his title.

Notably, Solo Sikoa could bring this to the attention of Nick Aldis and ask him to strip The Samoan Werewolf of the United States Championship. Thus, there is a possibility that the GM could be strong-armed by Sikoa and his New Bloodline teammate, JC Mateo, into taking action against Fatu. This could be the former Tribal Chief's way of getting back at Jacob, especially after the US Champ backstabbed Sikoa at the 2025 Money in the Bank.

While this is a possibility, all of this is speculation so far. Moreover, this may not necessarily come to fruition, as the 30-day title defense rule has been largely overlooked for several champions and only comes into consideration when the storyline demands it. This especially includes part-time top stars like Roman Reigns, who sometimes don’t defend their titles for over 100 days as well.

Jacob Fatu could team up with the son of a WWE legend to face The New Bloodline

Solo Sikoa won’t let Jacob Fatu’s betrayal at the 2025 Money in the Bank slide. He would most likely go after The Samoan Werewolf, with JC Mateo in tow, and hunt him down. However, there is a possibility that the United States Champion may call upon Zilla Fatu to join him on WWE SmackDown.

Before making his debut in WWE in June 2024, Jacob Fatu was active in the indie scene and was a tag team partner of Zilla Fatu. The duo had last fought a match together at GCW on March 24, 2024, taking down Oni El Bendito and Gringo Loco. Now, the son of the legendary Umaga could team up with The Samoan Werewolf once again in the Stamford-based promotion.

This team-up could also lead to a potential tag team match between the Fatus and The New Bloodline in the future. Moreover, if Zilla Fatu makes his WWE debut, Nick Aldis could even book him and the United States Champion against Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo at the 2025 Night of Champions.

While this is also speculative, it would be interesting to see what lies ahead for The New Bloodline.
