In case you didn’t know…

Both Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega have been firing shots at each other and mocking each other on Twitter for the past few weeks.

The Bullet Club leader, earlier today, defended his IWGP US Heavyweight Title against Trent Berretta in a brutal match at NJPW: Power Struggle. After the match, Omega cut a promo on the NJPW roster saying that he has defeated everyone in the company and there is no one left for him to face.

Moments after his promo, Omega was interrupted by non-other former six-time WWE World Champion Chris Jericho, who challenged The Elite member to a match at the Dome in January. Kenny accepted the challenge and thus the match between the two men was confirmed.

The heart of the matter

Author’s Take

Personally, I am as shocked as any wrestling fan around the world is right now. With Jericho also being labelled as a WWE Superstar -- a part-timer for the company, it was truly a shocking moment to see someone jump ship from one company to another.

"The Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla" will now wrestle one of the most influential wrestlers in NJPW history, Kenny Omega, at the company’s biggest show of the year.
