NJPW News: Eric Bischoff comments on Hulk Hogan possibly joining Bullet Club

Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan have been acquaintances for years.

What’s the story?

On a recent edition of his podcast Bischoff On Wrestling, Veteran pro-wrestling personality Eric Bischoff spoke about Hulk Hogan possibly joining Bullet Club.

In case you didn’t know...

Members of Bullet Club had stated that the only two members whom they’d consider allowing into their exclusive Club are CM Punk and Hogan.

In response to which, Hulk Hogan asserted that he’s interested in joining Bullet Club- a professional wrestling stable that is widely regarded as the hottest in the sport as of today.

The heart of the matter

Eric Bischoff spoke about Hogan possibly joining Bullet Club and stated that although the 63-year old legend would have fun with the energy associated with Bullet Club in the Indies, he couldn’t possibly imagine the Hulkster travelling to all the independent shows and keeping up with the young wrestlers. Here are a few excerpts from his statements:

“I can’t even imagine. I can’t even imagine. I think he was having fun in the spur of the moment (in relation to Hulk showing interest in joining BC)…but I don’t see Hulk Hogan… I can’t even imagine him traveling to an independent show and going through everything he’d have to go through to become part of that.

I am sure he was having fun in the moment and he wanted to put the guys over because he is that kind of guy. I just can’t imagine any real, functional role there.”

Furthermore, on being informed that Bullet Club isn't merely exclusive to the independent promotions but also to top notable organisations such as ROH and NJPW, Bischoff agreed with the notion that it would be great to see Hulk Hogan in Japan since he’s held in such high regard on those shores.

What’s next?

The WWE have apparently distanced themselves from Hulk Hogan after the latter was allegedly caught on camera hurling racist slurs. Nevertheless, the veteran still makes sporadic appearances at wrestling and entertainment-related events the world over.

Author’s take

Although Hulk Hogan's transgressions can't be forgiven, one can’t deny the contributions of the man to our sport. However, as for him joining Bullet Club, I don’t see why BC would need the Hulkster to join them.

Bullet Club is without a doubt one of the most ‘over’ teams in the sport today and will do just fine, with or without Hogan.
