NJPW/WWE News: Chris Jericho dedicates Wrestle Kingdom match to Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero

an amazing sentiment
An amazing sentiment!

What's the story?

Chris Jericho is about to embark on one of the biggest matches of his career when he takes on Kenny Omega at the Wrestle Kingdom 12. But he probably wishes he had a couple more friends who could witness this historic match go down. Along the way Chris Jericho has lost some dear friends for one reason or another and with his huge match against Kenny Omega on the way, Jericho is dedicating his performance to Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero, two men who the pro wrestling world lost way too soon.

In case you didn't know...

Eddie Guerrero is still regarded as a hero in WWE but Chris Benoit's memory has been totally whitewashed. The manner of how each man died is a huge reason for this as Guerrero died of heart problems and Benoit was involved with a double-murder suicide which took the life of not only himself but his wife and child as well.

But Jericho spent a good amount of time travelling the globe with Benoit and Guerrero and he knows they would be happy to see him at the Wrestle Kingdom in such a huge match.

Heart of the matter

In a rather simply Instagram post, Chris Jericho stated he was dedicating his Wrestle Kingdom 12 match to his "fallen brothers" Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. This is not only an amazing sentiment, but it also speaks volumes to what Jericho could never say if he were wrestling under a WWE banner tomorrow night instead.

What's next?

Chris Jericho's match against Kenny Omega is probably going to be a great one and many people are already proclaiming it could be the best match of 2018 already. We'll just have to wait and see, but only time will tell how long Jericho's stay in New Japan could be as well.

Author's take

This is a great statement from Chris Jericho and pretty awesome artwork as well. Wrestle Kingdom 12 is going to be something special, that's for sure.
