NXT TakeOver beats RAW and SmackDown in attendance numbers
NXT TakeOver: WarGames reportedly outdrew both RAW and SmackDown respectively, in Chicago, according to Dave Meltzer (H/T: NoDQ). The Black and Gold Brand had approximately 10,500 people witnessing the show on Saturday while RAW had only around 7,200.
SmackDown, meanwhile, fared slightly better than the Red Brand, as approximately 7,800 turned up to watch the show. The recent episode of AEW Dynamite, which also took place in Chicago, drew around 6,100 people.
A week of NXT flying high
The last week was a solid one for NXT. Not only did TakeOver outdraw all the shows mentioned above, the brand's Survivor Series performance was also commendable.
Indeed, NXT won the war, as they ended the night with four wins to their name while SmackDown could only muster two victories and RAW had to settle with the sole win that The Viking Raiders achieved in the Kickoff Show
There were a number of NXT stars that went over with the fans, as the likes of Keith Lee, Adam Cole, and Rhea Ripley stole the headlines with their performances at the pay-per-view.
It will be interesting to see how the fallout episode of NXT fares in terms of rating this week with many expecting the Black and Gold Brand to beat Dynamite for the second week running.Published 29 Nov 2019, 22:23 IST
