The United Kingdom is in for a treat this Sunday as NXT UK’s third event, NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II, is all set to set the ring on fire.

The event will be held at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, and will be streamed live on the WWE Network. Five huge matches have already been announced for the event, and we will watch the NXT UK Champion and NXT UK Women’s Champion put their titles on the line against the most deserving members of the NXT UK roster.

Apart from that, a huge four-way tag team ladder match will take place to crown the NXT UK Tag Team Champions and give the fans some great moments to remember.

In this article, we will look a the 4 things that must happen at TakeOver: Blackpool II in order to make the event a big success!

#4 Jordan Devlin steals a victory

NXT UK has shaped up to become a brand that can counter any other top promotion in the industry today. Men like Tyler Bate and Jordan Devlin have helped the brand get to where it is today, and remained with the brand since its beginning.

The two top Superstars will go face to face at TakeOver: Blackpool where the man who goes over will likely climb up to the top once again.

As a former NXT UK Champion, Bate will be walking into the match as a favorite. However, The Irish Ace has shown resentment against the former Champion for getting a match against WALTER at the previous TakeOver event.

This should work in favor of the heelish Devlin who will likely use every tactic up his sleeve to try and pick up a victory.

NXT should allow Devlin to steal a victory over Bate and emerge as the next contender to the NXT UK Championship while allowing the two men to continue their rivalry down the line.

The match between these two mastersof the ring will be a treat to watch, and the brand should allow Devlin to pick up a controversial victory to continue the story for longer.

#3 Imperium wins the Tag Team Championships

Imperium needs to get over in this match without WALTER
Imperium needs to get over in this match without WALTER

This is one match that I’m really looking forward to as NXT UK’s tag team division seems to be the most solid tag team division in all of WWE today.

On Sunday, we will watch the four best teams in the form of Gallus, Grizzled Young Veterans, Imperium, and Flash Morgan-Webster and Mark Andrews compete for the NXT United Kingdom Tag Team Championships which are currently held by Gallus.

The four-way ladder match will be nothing short of explosive as all four teams are extremely athletic and hard-hitting and will be willing to go all out to win the titles.

While Andrews and Webster seem to be in a position to win the titles, NXT must book the villainous Imperium to go over in this match.

Imperium arrived on to the scene as one of the most threatening factions in WWE, but apart from WALTER, the remaining three men have struggled a bit to make an impact.

With Worlds Collide just weeks away, and with The Undisputed Era ready to go toe-to-toe with Imperium, the company must put the gold on Imperium to make them seem as threatening as Undisputed Era.

Since there are a few stories involved in this huge clash, the heels should pick up the victory to pose as a threat to The Undisputed Era while giving Andrews and Webster a chance to pick up the victory later on.

#2 Kay Lee Ray gives up her title

Will Storm or Niven free up Lee Ray for a bigger assignment?
Will Storm or Niven free up Lee Ray for a bigger assignment?

Kay Lee Ray has managed to make it big on NXT UK after defeating Toni Storm for the NXT United Kingdom Women’s Championship and proving to be a great heel.

Storm, on the other hand, has been absent from NXT UK for some time and only appeared during the build-up to Survivor Series and at the pay-per-view before getting into this match.

Piper Niven, on the other hand, has shaped up to become the perfect leader of the NXT UK women’s division and could surely prove to be an asset for the entire company down the line.

The three women will take to the ring at the event as Lee Ray will defend her title against Storm and Niven. While Lee Ray has proven to be a great entertainer and wrestler in recent months and has held the title for over four months now, it’s time she gives it up at the major event.

Niven seems like the perfect woman to take over the reins of the UK division as Storm needs to start rebuilding on NXT UK or NXT before getting back into the Championship picture.

Lee Ray should drop the title soon and move on to NXT in the coming months as she can prove to be the perfect challenger to Rhea Ripley and her NXT Women’s Championship.

#1 WALTER retains his title

At over 270 days, it feels like WALTER’s reign as the NXT United Kingdom Champion is just getting started as he defeated Pete Dunne who held the title for no less than 685 days.

With big shoes to fill, WALTER is big enough to take on anyone in NXT, RAW, or SmackDown and make them pay for challenging him to a match.

On Sunday, Gallus’ Joe Coffey will dare to walk into the ring with The Ring General himself who knows no boundaries when it comes to dishing out punishment in the most technical manner.

While Coffey has had some excellent moments in NXT, especially his battle against then-NXT UK Champion Pete Dunne at the first TakeOver: Blackpool event, it was WALTER who laid waste to him after the match before turning his attention to The Bruiserweight and his title.

Even though The Iron King feels like the perfect man to defeat WALTER and take his title away from him, he should wait a little longer and allow WALTER to extend his reign of terror over NXT UK before taking a loss.

NXT must book a memorable match that must allow Coffey to go way over before eventually losing the match and allowing The Ring General to extend his reign with an eye on Worlds Collide.
