From the past few years, we have all known who the chosen one was, the guy who was built to replace John Cena as the face of WWE.

The guy who was built to tame the unbeatable beast Brock Lesnar, one who was in the main event of Wrestlemania for four consecutive years- it was Roman Reigns.
Since the day Brock Lesnar ended the Wrestlemania streak of the Undertaker, he went on to become an unstoppable, unbeatable force in the WWE.
He rampaged through all competition. No one really survived the Beast until Goldberg, who pulled a shock victory over him but was ultimately silenced decisively by Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 33, thus becoming the Universal Champion.
He had been booked so strongly that anyone who would beat him will automatically become the top guy in WWE.
At the same time when Brock Lesnar was being built up as a formidable force, WWE was also booking another Superstar strongly, though not at the same level as Lesnar.
It was Roman Reigns, who became the second only person to beat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33, the same night when Brock Lesnar became the Universal Champion. Every WWE fan knew that these two were on a collision course and that Roman Reigns will be the one to ultimately tame the Beast.
After a few unsuccessful shots at Universal Championship, Roman Reigns ultimately defeated Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2018 and ended his 504-day long controversial championship reign.
The problem with Lesnar's championship reign was that he was a part-time Superstar and the Beast Incarnate was not around on weekly shows and showed up only for build up to pay per view matches.
The championship was, therefore, rarely seen on TV. Reigns defeating Lesnar brought a big relief to RAW as the show's top title was at least always on the show and was frequently defended.t
But a few months later, Roman Reigns had to relinquish his title after getting diagnosed with leukaemia. Instead of handing over the title to some other superstar, WWE went back to Brock Lesnar and he reclaimed the title by defeating Braun Strowman.
And, we were suddenly back to square one and the title has been lost again from WWE programming.
The question - 'who will tame the Beast Incarnate?' which was of great interest to WWE fans at the start of Lesnar's overstretched title reign became somewhat irritating as WWE programming suffered due to the absentee champion.
With Roman Reigns currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia and time of his return is uncertain, the same question is again back to haunt us - 'who will tame the beast?'
There is no doubt in the fact that WWE is full of talented Superstars who can believably beat Brock Lesnar like Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre based on their skill set and popularity, though none of them has been built on the level of Roman Reigns.
Braun Strowman has been the second most believable choice after Reigns to beat Lesnar though his popularity and credibility has some what in the past few months.
Drew McIntyre is another formidable athlete who has both the physique and ability to defeat the beast and has been hugely protected by the WWE since joining the main roster.
Seth Rollins' top-notch in-ring work in 2018 has made his popularity and credibility touch new heights.
Finn Balor, the first ever Universal champion, is one of the best wrestlers in the world and one of the most popular WWE superstar. In fact, Balor is currently in the Universal championship scene and is scheduled to face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

The current WWE roster is one of the best in its history. WWE does not need to depend on part-timers anymore as there are a plethora of full-time superstars waiting in line for the right opportunity.
Nor does it need to depend on just one name to carry the entire brand on its shoulder. It should rather try to ensure that the everybody gets what they deserve. It needs to solve the dilemma surrounding the Universal title to prevent its product from becoming stale.
The question is "Is WWE willing to do so?"
