Opinion: Why Kid Rock's Hall of Fame induction holds the key to Undertaker vs John Cena

John Cena vs Undertaker is still unconfirmed

In a bizarre turn of events, a large portion of the past four weeks of Monday Night Raw has been spent with John Cena calling out The Undertaker - only for us to be now approaching WrestleMania weekend with no match confirmed, and having not seen The Undertaker since Raw 25.

So, is the match even happening? And if so, how do we get to it with John Cena confirming that he'll be a member of the WWE Universe for the show of shows this weekend?

Well, firstly, the match HAS to happen. Or at the very least, an interaction between both men, but I think we need to see a match. If there was any doubt about the match, there's no chance WWE would have gone so far as to have John Cena directly call out and insult the Deadman - but it's now harder to get to.

Kid Rock being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. A slightly bizarre choice, right? And he's also the only inductee with no-one confirmed to induct him yet. It's almost as if WWE is deliberately stalling on announcing it...

Could something HUGE be in store for the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday? Could we see the Deadman accept John Cena's challenge for WrestleMania while inducting Kid Rock? I mean, he would be the logical choice to induct the man who provided his American Badass theme, as unlikely as it seems.

The one reason it fits in, John Cena has spent the past few weeks calling out the man that is The Undertaker, not the Deadman. With Undertaker "retiring" last year and leaving his coat, hat and gloves in the ring, it would appear that we'll see a very different Undertaker character - in fact, one as close to the man that is Mark Calaway as possible. The solution? A return of the American Badass.

Could we see the return of the American Badass?

Hall of Fame ceremony aside, as that would be an odd way to build the match, with Kid Rock providing the "New Orleans" theme tune for this year's WrestleMania, we could very well see a live performance from him.

Now, what better way for Undertaker to appear, than for Kid Rock to go from "New Orleans" into "American Badass" - with Taker's bike revving in between songs and Big Evil to make his way to the ring on his Harley Davidson to call out John Cena from the crowd.

We just need to hope the 16-time World Champion doesn't fill up on too many hot dogs and beers as part of the WWE Universe before Undertaker accepts his challenge.
