The ‘Ronda Rousey’ effect snowballing into the WWE Divas lockerroom

Paige is a huge fan of Rousey as is evident by the way she credits her for the sweeping change in the world of combat sports for women. “That’s the way the world’s going right now, with the whole Ronda Rousey phenomenon – and I’m proud of her for saying what she did to Floyd Mayweather. I was, like: ‘Good one!’ she says.

She also attributes the ‘Divas Revolution’ to Rousey in a big part, saying that it was her appearance that kickstarted the entire renewed focus on the WWE Divas’ division, along with being the dominant force in the UFC as the only women's’ bantamweight champion ever.

Her take on the talks of Ronda appearing at Wrestlemania 32

“I hope [Ronda will be involved] too, but I have no idea. I have no idea. I’m just hoping I get a match on it!” says Paige candidly. The former 2-time Divas champion hopes that Ronda is a part of Wrestlemania 32, especially if The Rock too is involved in some capacity. She is also hopeful of a Stephanie – Ronda match in some form.
