Samoa Joe has been booked dangerously but will likely fail to capture the WWE Championship

Samoa Joe shares the same type of booking that Braun Strowman has received. He's the extremely dangerous threat to anyone before a match of consequence, but when the chips are down, he's ultimately booked to fail.

Why he hasn't at least had a run with one of the mid-card championships is beyond me. His in-ring skill isn't in question and has made feuds with Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles all the more believable with his promos.

WWE booked Joe to seem extremely dangerous before the Royal Rumble match but despite lasting over 20 minutes, he only eliminated Curt Hawkins, No Way Jose, and Big E.

If we are to buy in to Joe as a threat worth fearing, he needs to win a huge feud or match. While he probably shouldn't win the WWE Championship at the Elimination Chamber, he needs to win one this year to validate his standing.

Otherwise, he'll continue to be another Bray Wyatt or Braun Strowman - extremely threatening on the build up to the match but ultimately a failure to win the big one.
