Predicting the AEW tag team top 5 rankings following Dynamite (13/11/19)

When AEW began with The Young Bucks as EVP's, it was clear from the beginning that tag team wrestling would be a priority, and given how well the division has been booked so far, it's safe to say that it's the best in all of wrestling. With so many talented teams, the rankings are so important going forward, as it may take a huge hot streak to rise to the top, and with SCU reigning, dethroning them maybe even harder.

The tag team division is so tightly packed, that the teams #3-5 could be put in any order, but with momentum, we've come up with what makes the most sense to us.

So sit back and read along as we look back on the week that was in All Elite Wrestling to present what we believe is the Top 5 Rankings for the incredibly stacked AEW Tag Team division.

#5 The Young Bucks

While many believe The Young Bucks are the best tag team in the world, they haven't yet hit their stride, which sees them come in at #5 on the ranking, falling from #3 a week ago. In the past week since those standings were released, the brothers Jackson came up short against Proud and Powerful and were laid out by them on Dynamite, meaning it doesn't look good for the former ROH Tag Team Champions.

They're still incredible in-ring performers, and it's clear that they don't want a big push right out of the gate to avoid it looking like preferential treatment, so eventually, they'll rise back to the top. From the beginning, AEW have pushed their tag team division as one of the best in the world, and they're stacked with incredible amounts of talent, so when The Bucks get hot again, they'll remind everyone how great they are, but for now, they're lucky to come in at #5.

#4 Private Party

While AEW has plenty of established star teams in the division, they needed to create new stars, and they've done just that with the duo of Isaiah Kassidy and Marq Quen, Private Party. With their upset of The Young Bucks and appearance in the AEW World Tag Team Championship match at Full Gear, it's clear that AEW are presenting them as stars, and with chemistry, charisma and an unmatched swagger, they will be stars in no time.

Unfortunately, they were the team pinned by SCU at Full Gear, so that sees them slipping down the rankings, but with a match against Proud and Powerful next week on Dynamite, they could quickly make another huge splash. With the return of Luchasaurus and Best Friends waiting in the wings, any back-to-back losses could cause a team to slip right out of the top 5, and while Private Party are in danger of that, they have enough talent to rise through the ranks.

#3 Dark Order

The Dark Order were pushed heavily when they first arrived in AEW but cooled off significantly. But after a win on Dynamite over The Jurassic Express, it seems they may have finally found their groove. Their victory inspired the shock return of Luchasaurus, so they may come up on the short end of that rivalry, but these two men still have a unique gimmick and could have a very bright future within All Elite Wrestling.

Given how stacked the tag team division, it's possible that The Dark Order take a slide in the near future, but after winning their Dynamite match to take their record to 4-2, they could be a sleeper team to dethrone the Champion trio of SCU.

If AEW can put the gimmick together fully and give these guys an interesting feud, they could be one of the best teams in all of AEW, and it looks like they could be well on their way.

#2 Proud and Powerful

The duo of Santana and Ortiz made their surprise debut way back at All Out and shocked us all even further by joining The Inner Circle on the debut episode of Dynamite, but it has paid off. The former Impact Tag Team Champions have been undefeated as a team since they arrived, and after knocking off The Young Bucks at Full Gear, it's clear that it's just a matter of time until they can be considered the #1 contenders.

There's still a team ahead of them, but given the pull that LeChampion has within AEW as their reigning Champion, there's no doubting that they will be challenging very soon. Despite the win at Full Gear, however, the issues between these two and The Bucks are far from over, and a victory in this rivalry could go a long way to solidifying these two as one of the best teams not only in AEW but the entire world.

#1 Lucha Bros

Ever since they were announced to be a part of All Elite Wrestling, The Lucha Brothers, Fenix and Pentagon have done nothing but leave crowds in awe, and it's leading them on a path straight to the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

As individuals, both men could be contending for the AEW World Championship, as they are both amazing in their own right, but together, they may be the best tag team in the entire wrestling industry.

Fenix provides a jaw-dropping aerial arsenal while Pentagon provides the strong style, and putting these two together makes them incredibly hard to beat, and it's only a matter of time until they get that 2 vs. 2 opportunity with SCU. Scorpio Sky has been hotter than anyone in AEW as he just pinned Chris Jericho, so the eventual showdown could be very unpredictable, and whether The Lucha Bros come out on top or not, they'll still be seen as arguably the best team in the world
