In 2006, Triple H and Michaels reformed D-Generation X and feuded with Vince and Shane McMahon for months on end. The rivalry finally came to an end at Unforgiven 2006, where the duo took on the McMahons and Big Show in a two-on-three Handicap Hell In A Cell match. DX overcame the odds and defeated the villainous trio to finally put a rest to the feud.
Three years later, when DX reformed again, Triple H and Michaels met Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase inside Hell In A Cell at the namesake pay-per-view. The Tornado Tag Team match ended with DX putting down The Legacy, thus bringing Michaels' record to three victories.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
