The build-up to Bray Wyatt's match against The Undertaker at WWE WrestleMania 31 was incredibly one-sided. The previous year, The Undertaker was defeated on the grandest stage of them all by Brock Lesnar, ending his mythic WrestleMania undefeated streak.

Many within the WWE Universe were unsure if The Phenom was ever going to return to WWE television again, let alone compete at WrestleMania once more. However, Bray Wyatt eventually appeared on WWE television and announced that he was "The New Face of Fear" and questioned if The Undertaker would ever return to WWE.

This led to Bray Wyatt challenging The Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania 31. The Deadman accepted the challenge, but did not appear on WWE television until the event, meaning that Wyatt had to do all the promotion and build for the match himself. It was an incredible feat that The New Face of Fear managed to pull off.

The match between The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 31 was certainly a spectacle that was far better than many imagined it would be. The Undertaker appeared to be physically healthier than the WWE Universe had seen him in a long time and the two WWE Superstars delivered an excellent match.

In addition, mere hours before the show went on the air, Bray Wyatt injured his ankle. This raised concerns backstage that Wyatt could potentially be unable to perform in his match against The Undertaker. However, Wyatt pulled through and delivered an excellent performance, despite losing the match.
