JBL and Eddie Guerrero had a perfect contrast of lifestyles. Eddie Guerrero was a man who had reached the lowest of lows and had to fight his way back to get on top. JBL had just gone through a gimmick change and was now a Texan millionaire that got everything handed to him.

The feud was hot right from the start, with JBL hitting some serious hot topics like immigration in America, which painted him as a racist, xenophobic heel.

Then, Kurt Angle became the GM and made JBL the No. 1 contender for Eddie Guerrero's WWE Championship. The two went on to have a crazy feud, which included JBL giving Guerrero's mother a heart attack.

Eddie Guerrero lost his title at The Great American Bash, after Angle reversed the initial decision. Guerrero then issued a rematch to JBL and the two battled in a Steel Cage match for the title on an episode of SmackDown. This time, Angle cost Guerrero the title a second time, while dressed as a luchador.
