RAW before SummerSlam: 3 ways WWE could advance the Seth Rollins-Brock Lesnar storyline

SummerSlam 2019 is almost here as there is just a little over a week to go before the Biggest Party of the Summer takes place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. The match card is almost settled, with the final RAW before the PPV giving us the full line-up.

The main event of this year’s SummerSlam is most likely going to be the match between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. These two men have quite a bit of history as they have already faced each other at WrestleMania earlier this year.

However, unlike the weeks preceding WrestleMania 35, there seems to be some intrigue in this feud as Lesnar came out on RAW last week and absolutely destroyed Seth Rollins to the point that Paul Heyman himself had to beg Lesnar to stop.

Even that didn’t stop the Beast as he took Rollins out of the ambulance later and once again laid him out with an F5. Following the good work of last week, here are 3 ways in which WWE could take this storyline forward…

#3 Rollins retaliates

Rollins to retaliate?

We shall start with the unlikeliest of scenarios. As Paul Heyman comes out with Brock Lesnar to further warn Rollins about the beating he would get at SummerSlam, the Architect could come out wielding a chair and give a shocked Lesnar the beating of his life.

Everyone watching would be stunned by this as nobody would expect Rollins to come back on RAW this week after the beating he got last week.

However, this is not likely to happen as it would undermine the attack that Lesnar made last week and would also take away some shine off the revenge angle from Rollins at SummerSlam.

But with WWE, you never know what comes next.

#2 Makes a statement by brutalizing someone else

Before Extreme Rules, Bobby Lashley squashed Rey Mysterio in a match on RAW. After the win, he further brutalized Mysterio to make a statement before heading to his Last Man Standing match against Braun Strowman at Extreme Rules.

It made Lashley look really strong, and doing something similar with Brock Lesnar before his match at SummerSlam would be a good idea. It is unlikely that Lesnar would have a match at RAW this week, so the angle that WWE could use is him dismantling a Superstar – either at the back or in the ring following a match in which the said Superstar took part.

Selecting the said Superstar is the hardest part as the Beast’s attack would bury him for the time being. But it is a shot that the company could take to put more heat on the reigning WWE Universal Champion.

#1 Attacks Rollins even more

For me, this is the best possible way to go forward with this storyline. With Paul Heyman pulling the strings on RAW and making it more engaging of late with aggressive segments, using Lesnar to attack Rollins even more would be the ideal way to go.

Remember hospital attacks back in the days of yore? Lesnar could roll back the pages with something similar. He could go to hospital where Rollins is and beat him even more to garner more heat while also putting Rollins’ participation at SummerSlam in jeopardy.

Of course, WWE have already announced that Lesnar will be on the show, which makes it somewhat difficult to pull it off. So, another way could be to have Rollins appear at the show with bandages all around him and then have Lesnar once again beat the lights out of him.

Doing this would not only make Lesnar look strong but it would also thicken the plot before SummerSlam as fans would wait in anticipation to see whether Rollins gets his revenge.
