AJ Styles has always been a world champion calibre superstar and when he came to WWE, he proved that even more so, winning the WWE Championship on two occasions. SmackDown Live may have been the house that AJ Styles built, but he's a RAW superstar now, and with that, his objective has changed to the Universal Championship.
The Phenomenal One wasted no time in getting right into the fray, first winning a triple threat match against Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio before beating Baron Corbin in the main event. There was a handshake between champion and challenger, but there was visible tension. If anything, AJ Styles teased a heel turn and that might come to fruition this week after 2 years when he potentially attacks Seth Rollins.
