RAW Preview: Champion vs Champion match, 3 title changes take place off-screen (August 26th, 2019)

Champions!
Champions!

We're off the heels of an extremely interesting episode of Monday Night RAW. We did, of course, end last week with a rather incredible sight - Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman as RAW Tag Team Champions.

Strowman has surprisingly come to Rollins' aid despite clearly being interested in the title. It certainly helps that Rollins feels he's a deserving contender, but if they are RAW Tag Team Champions, that means that both will have to wrestle at least twice in the coming PPV.

We are, of course, talking about the WWE Clash of Champions 2019 PPV. The big PPV is coming up soon. This is the third last week before the PPV, so it'll be interesting to see how things accelerate.

Perhaps the biggest attraction of RAW this week and even last is the King of the Ring tournament. Tonight, it's all set to continue and we'll get a clearer picture of who is going forward to round #2.

The women's division has also been on fire and here is what you need to look forward to this coming RAW!

#5 Bayley takes on Nikki Cross

Last week on SmackDown Live, The Queen Charlotte Flair had requested to be on A Moment of Bliss. To nobody's surprise, the tension escalated and it was only a matter of time before things reached its boiling point.

However, that only happened when Bayley came out and accepted Charlotte Flair's challenge to a match at Clash of Champions. She then proceeded to shove the 9-time champion down and this week, we're all set to witness a champion vs champion match.

What does Nikki Cross have to do with it? Well, not much apart from the fact that she was a witness to the whole thing. Will Alexa Bliss' presence help Cross beat Bayley or will The Hugger prevail?

#4. The King of The Ring continues with 2 huge matches

Ricochet vs Drew McIntyre
Ricochet vs Drew McIntyre

The King of the Ring tournament kickstarted last week on RAW and SmackDown Live. The first match saw Samoa Joe submit Cesaro in a hard-hitting match-up, while the second one saw Cedric Alexander defeat a rather out-of-form Sami Zayn.

On the SmackDown side of things, we saw Andrade take out Apollo Crews, while Shane McMahon screwed Kevin Owens out of an opportunity and helped Elias qualify for the next round.

Tonight, we have two big matches on the card - Ricochet vs Drew McIntyre and The Miz vs Baron Corbin. You might be interested to know that this is the first time that Miz and Corbin will meet since Survivor Series 2017. On that occasion, it was Corbin who came out victorious.

The winner of that match will face Cedric Alexander in the next round while the winner of Ricochet vs McIntyre will face Samoa Joe. It's going to be a huge test for Ricochet, who has to get through a pool of sharks if he wants to truly live up to his "King" moniker.

However, Ricochet does have incredible momentum behind him and it'll be interesting to see if he's able to overcome The Scottish Psychopath.

#3. The 24/7 chase continues

What will happen this week?
What will happen this week?

The madness continues! On SmackDown Live, Elias used his favoritism from Shane McMahon to ensure that at no point in the night would his 24/7 title be defended. As a result, things were rather quiet on the blue side, but that doesn't mean that R-Truth or Drake Maverick aren't plotting something.

This past week during the FOX Founders Day event, Elias was all set to give a musical performance but R-Truth would snatch the title from him. This, of course, was also witnessed by Maverick, a man desperate to consumate his marriage.

However, a big twist came when Truth was showing off the title inside the studio. Rob Stone, a long-time analyst, took advantage of the situation after Truth foolishly told him the rules of the title. Stone would then roll Truth up to win the title, only to lose it seconds later from behind to Elias.

Now that it's all come full circle, it's going to be really interesting to see what Elias has in store tonight. Don't blink - or else you're going to miss all the magic of the 24/7!

#2. The rage of The Boss continues

The Boss
The Boss

Sasha Banks is back and she has been nothing shy of ruthless. It's a side of her that we haven't really seen in her NXT days - which has been 4 years now. That's a long time to hold back one's real side, but it's going to be really interesting to see what happens.

Last week, Becky Lynch cut an intense promo backstage, more than welcoming the challenge of Sasha Banks. The Man knows that this is her toughest challenge since Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35 and she seems to be ready.

One superstar who clearly hasn't been ready, however, is Natalya. With her arm literally in a sling, she's been attacked and brutalized time and again by the 4-time Women's Champion. It's clear that Sasha Banks has no limits and doesn't plan to stop anytime soon. The question is as to when she's going to target Becky Lynch next.

One can imagine that the next time the RAW Women's Champion is out, she's going to have to anticipate a post-match beatdown from The Boss. Will the rage of Sasha Banks continue? Will she target someone else as her next victim or will it be Becky Lynch?

#1. New champions on the block!

They are the champions!
They are the champions!

For two superstars that are all set to clash horns at Clash of Champions, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman seem to get along just fine. It was Strowman who first came to the aid of Rollins a couple of weeks ago and last week, Strowman had Seth Rollins somewhat return the favor.

Rollins openly stated that he believed Strowman deserves a crack at the Universal Championship and we agree with him. However, for the second time in his career, Rollins had an odd-pairing combination that resulted in him winning the RAW Tag Team Championship.

He's now a 3-time Double Champion, a 2-time Universal Champion, a 5-time RAW Tag Team Champion and also has multiple reigns with the WWE title and the Intercontinental title. The Grand Slam superstar is going to have a busy night.

For one, it wouldn't be surprising if they're forced to put up the titles right away. The OC must be planning something to get the titles back. Otherwise, it's going to be completely chaotic at Clash of Champions as the two men will have to wrestle two different matches that night.

Moreover, don't be surprised if AJ Styles finds a way to insert himself into the title picture.
