Rey Mysterio is one of the most beloved superstars in the history of WWE. Despite his relatively smaller size, Mysterio has reached heights that few other superstars have been able to.

Throughout his career, he has battled and emerged triumphant in situations which may have seemed impossible. His story in WWE can be likened to that of a fictional superhero who beats all the odds stacked against him.

However, his career isn't the only reason why fans and critics consider him a superhero. Rey Mysterio has himself donned the costume of heroes from movies and comics on many occasions throughout his career.

On our list, we will focus on the five best superhero cosplays by The Master of 619.

Which one of the following do you admire the most? Sound off in the comments below.

Both Mysterio and Daredevil are disadvantaged against their opponents. The former is at a disadvantage due to his smaller size and the latter due to a lack of sight. However, once they don their masks, they are an unmatched threat to their foes.

While Daredevil has been one of the most talked-about superstars in recent times, he was a hot topic in 2003 as well. A standalone movie featuring Ben Affleck as the titular character was released that year and fans were happy to see him on the big screen.

Rey Mysterio too seemed to be impressed by its release and competed wearing a Daredevil inspired costume at WrestleMania XIX. The suit, however, didn't help him much and he had to face defeat at the hands of Matt Hardy within a matter of minutes.

#4. Rey Mysterio became an X-Men at All-In

The All-In pay-per-view, which turned out to be one of the most revolutionary events in recent history, took place in 2018. Since Rey Mysterio was not under any contract with WWE at the time, he partook in the event.

He didn't wear his traditional Mysterio costume on the night and rather donned the suit and mask of Wolverine. The Master of 619 contested the main event of the night when he teamed up with Bandido and Rey Fénix against The Golden Elites (Kota Ibushi, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson).

Mysterio performed very well but could not lead his team to victory as Wolverine. Nonetheless, he was looking amazing as the X-Men member.

#3. Dressed up as Captain America at WrestleMania XXV

Just like the majority of his WrestleMania matches, Rey Mysterio wore a superhero outfit at the 27th edition of the event. It was 2011 and Captain America had made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mysterio expressed his interest in the movie in his own way.

The Biggest Little Man looked great as the savior of America and faced off against Cody Rhodes. Though the cosplay was great, he came up short in the actual match, as The American Nightmare managed to defeat Captain America.

#2. Mysterio asks "Why so serious?"

The Ultimate Underdog has never turned heel in his WWE career, and thus does not look like a villain at all. He, however, donned the costume of a fictional character whose personality largely differs from Mysterio's.

Rey Mysterio wore The Joker's costume when he faced JBL for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania XXV. It was one of the rare instances when a superhero costume favored Mysterio in a match, and he defeated JBL in a squash match.

Rey Mysterio looked remarkable both in costume and in the ring.

#1. A Mysterio variant from Earth-619

Marvel announced its own Mysterio to make its live-action debut in 2019. The former World Champion decided to dress like his namesake for the 35th edition of WrestleMania.

Although Marvel's Mysterio made his opponent's life miserable, WWE's Mysterio couldn't do anything as such and was squashed by Samoa Joe.

Nonetheless, he was one of the highlights of the event because of how accurate he was looking with the comics' counterpart. Whenever Marvel depicts a 619 version of earth in the MCU, expect The Master of 619 to tell the world that Spider-Man is Peter Parker.
