Unlike former tag team partner Ricochet, Aleister Black is a former NXT Champion. While that isn't always a marker for success on the main roster, his finishing move, The Black Mass, still elicited "oohs" and "ahhs" from the audiences of RAW and SmackDown.

Prior to rejoining his partner from NXT, Ricochet, he did compete in a couple singles bouts. Once he was split from 'The One and Only,' he joined SmackDown in the Superstar Shake Up. After joining the Blue Brand, Black didn't compete in an actual match until he faced Cesaro at Extreme Rules. His main exposure to the audience came through backstage vignettes where he tried to explain his mysterious backstory. Those vignettes continued after his in-ring debut, but the messages were usually the same - he wanted someone to pick a fight with him.

It was hard to dive deeper into his potentially riveting backstory, but his in-ring work spoke for itself when he did get the chance to compete. The backstage promos were a way to delve into his character but we haven't learned much other than he has some secrets and that he feels he has been shunned by society. After the WWE Draft, he was among the names to join RAW. Like Ricochet and Murphy, it was rumored that he was someone that Paul Heyman really wanted on Monday nights.
