Alexa Bliss' lengthy WWE hiatus has been a significant talking point amongst fans, and Dave Meltzer has now revealed an interesting update on her status, which is tied to another absent superstar.

Before disappearing from WWE TV, the company dropped multiple hints about Alexa Bliss reuniting with Bray Wyatt. The Eater of Worlds himself was in line for a big WrestleMania match before he was pulled due to alleged health issues.

Rumors circulated about creative problems stalling Wyatt and Bliss' on-screen run, which Dave Meltzer confirmed to be true. The Wrestling Observer journalist noted in the latest Newsletter that Alexa Bliss' impending return could give fans a clear picture of what lies ahead for Bray Wyatt.

If Bliss makes her comeback without any connections with Wyatt, then it could be a sign that WWE has "given up" on the former Universal Champion.

"Wyatt is no longer listed on the internal roster for the company. What that means is hard to say. Wyatt was ill when he disappeared and they continued to hint at him being there, but the issues with creative talked about at the time were legit. A key is Bliss. If Bliss comes back with no hints toward Wyatt then I'd say they've given up on Wyatt coming back any time soon."

Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt were "supposed to be linked" after her WWE return

For those who aren't aware, the former Women's Champion was recently diagnosed with skin cancer, which was thankfully detected quite early and prevented her from undergoing major medical procedures.

Bliss even appeared on the 'Masked Singer' while being sidelined from WWE, and as noted, she is available to return as of this writing. It was added in the WON that the original plan was for Wyatt and Bliss to work together after she was cleared to be back on WWE programming.

Little Miss Bliss last stepped inside the squared circle at Royal Rumble 2023, where she unsuccessfully challenged Bianca Belair for the RAW Women's Championship.

Bray's uncertain situation seems to have affected Alexa's creative direction as well, and all the unanswered questions regarding the duo will only be solved when the popular female star appears next for the promotion.
