A major WWE SmackDown star has reportedly been spotted ahead of tonight's edition of RAW. Tonight is the final episode of the red brand before Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend.
According to a new report from PWInsider, Carmelo Hayes is slated for tonight's RAW taping in Wichita, Kansas. The report noted that it is unknown if the SmackDown star will appear on the show or compete in a dark match later tonight.
Hayes was selected in the first round by SmackDown in the WWE Draft earlier this year.
Carmelo Hayes has not had much success on the blue brand lately. He got into an argument with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis this past Friday night, and it was revealed that Hayes would be challenging a mystery star next week.
Hayes has not been in action since his loss to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on the November 22 edition of SmackDown.
WWE analyst teases that Carmelo Hayes' mystery opponent could be a former champion
Media personality Sam Roberts recently suggested that Bobby Roode could be Carmelo Hayes' mystery opponent next Friday night on SmackDown.
Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts suggested that Roode could return to the ring next week to battle the former NXT Champion. The Glorious One has not competed in a match since 2022 and currently works as a producer for the company.
"Last time Nick Aldis said something like that, the Motor City Machine Guns were the ones who showed up, and a lot was made out of the connection they had in the past. Maybe Nick Aldis is bringing someone else up from TNA. Maybe Bobby Roode," Roberts said, singing Roode's theme 'Glorious' for a moment, before adding, "is coming back to compete on SmackDown and Nick Aldis is responsible for it because it's another TNA guy. Who knows?" [From 50:29 to 50:50]
