Unfortunate update on former WWE champion - Reports

Triple H has done an excellent job in bolstering the WWE roster ever since taking over the keys to the creative department. However, it seems like Hunter may have to wait a while to get back the services of one of his RAW stars.

The name in question is Erik, who is one-half of the former RAW Tag Team Champions, The Viking Raiders. The 39-year-old has been on the shelf for the last few weeks after suffering an injury. In Erik's absence, Ivar has been shining as a singles star and has really come into his own.

A recent report from Fightful Select provided an update on the injured star's status, noting that he is not expected to be back anytime soon.

Ivar has impressed WWE higher-ups in Erik's absence

While Erik's injury has come at an unfortunate time for the Viking Raiders as the duo was finally getting some momentum on the main roster, it has provided Ivar a chance to shine as a singles star on RAW.

The powerhouse has not disappointed so far, as he has delivered excellent matches in each outing to the squared circle. He also recently got a victory over Kofi Kingston in a match that was praised by fans and critics alike. It was also reported that the WWE higher-ups were impressed with Ivar's performance and are open to giving him more opportunities in the singles division.

The star featured in a pre-taped vignette on RAW last night after his singles victory over Kofi a couple of weeks back. He also recently hinted at going after Gunther's Intercontinental Championship. The star has so far won the tag titles in his time with the Stamford-based promotion.
