Heath Slater has revealed that he wanted John Cena to put him and others in the Nexus over at SummerSlam. The heels were on top of their game at that time but Vince McMahon decided to change the outcome of the match at the last minute.

Slater, who was recently released by WWE, claims that it would have benefitted if Cena had put them over. The Nexus lost their match against Team WWE that comprised of Bret Hart, Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Edge, John Cena, John Morrison, and R-Truth.

Talking on the Busted Open Radio, Slater recalled how they spent the whole day trying to convince the WWE Chairman to change the outcome of the match.

“SummerSlam, we should have took over. Period. We should’ve won. Me, Gabriel and Wade were the last three and then pretty much Daniel and Cena took us all out. It was just one of those things where as soon as that happened, we shifted from fourth to second gear in a matter of one night.”
