CageSideSeats has reported that the closure of The Hardy Boyz’ online store may have been a result of a contract being signed with the WWE.
Matt Hardy’s wife, who runs the store and has designed several of its’ t-shirts, had claimed that the store was closing primarily because of her second child being on the way. However, there might be more to the closure than is being revealed right now.

Though Matt Hardy’s personal website, matthardybrand.com, is still operational, his merchandise website, shopmatthardy.com, announced that it would be shutting down as Matt’s wife Reby announced that she would be unable to run the website due to her pregnancy with her second child.
News broke last month that Matt and Jeff Hardy would not re-sign with TNA Impact Wrestling following negotiations having fallen through.
The Hardys ended up signing a short one-month contract with Ring of Honor and defeated The Young Bucks for the ROH Tag Team Championships at ROH Manhattan Mayhem IV.
The heart of the matter
The Hardy Boyz and the WWE have been in communication with each other about bringing Matt and Jeff Hardy back to the promotion.
It has been rumoured that the talks have been going well, which is indicated by the WWE continuing to post videos on social media discussing the Hardy Boyz. They even placed emphasis on the word “Broken” in a Jeff and Matt Hardy video, which was posted yesterday on one of their Twitter handles.

As far as the store goes, the WWE would probably prefer to make and market merchandise for the Hardyz through their own merchandise departments as opposed to using the website.
A possible return to the WWE may not be the full reason why the store is coming to a close, but it likely is related.
What’s next?
Many fans are predicting that The Hardy Boyz could be back with the WWE as soon as WrestleMania 33 this weekend due to their contracts likely expiring by the next ROH show in Orlando.
