What's the story?

It's been a strange few weeks for Rusev, but it was announced on Monday night that he would be once again facing The Undertaker at The Greatest Royal Rumble after Chris Jericho had been announced in his spot the week before.

In case you didn't know...

Rusev hasn't had a lot of luck in WWE in recent weeks and started a lot of online speculation when he removed all traces of WWE from his social media profiles.

Rusev was originally revealed to be the superstar facing The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia next week, but after the company thought that Rusev's comments towards The Deadman had offended him, Rusev was taken out of the match and Chris Jericho was put in.

Fast forward a week and it seems that Rusev has been put back into the Casket match with the WWE legend after it seems that The Undertaker wasn't offended by any of Rusev's banter as he attempted to build up the match.

The heart of the matter

There has been a lot of confusion surrounding The Undertaker's match at The Greatest Royal Rumble, but it seems that with just a week to go to the event, Rusev is the man who will be taking on The Deadman in Saudi Arabia.

Rusev decided to send quite a tongue in cheek message to Jericho online today after it was revealed that he was back in the match, where he posted the graphic of Jericho and The Undertaker with the #TBT hashtag.

Jericho has been active on social media since Rusev posted the update early this morning, but it seems that the former World Champion has decided not to respond.

What's next?

Rusev will take on The Undertaker in a casket match at The Greatest Royal Rumble next Friday night in Saudi Arabia.

Author's take

Rusev has become popular with the WWE Universe over the past few months because he isn't scared to have banter online.

He says what he wants to say and whilst this could easily be setting up a feud between Jericho and Rusev for the future, it seems very tongue in cheek from the former United States Champion.

It will be interesting to see if Jericho makes an appearance in Saudi Arabia and makes his response in person instead.
