Ryback vs The Shield - Possible Scenarios

Ryback, the reckless monster, has been in the spotlight for quite a while now. The fact that fans have developed a liking for this monster puts him in a very good position among the creative heads of WWE. Vince apparently has a special liking for Ryback, which was quite obvious from the huge push that he received. Ryback has been in title contention for the past few months, thanks to an injury that Cena sustained. He got into a few title matches over the past two months.

We saw Ryback come extremely close to winning the title, and more than twice he was denied this glory thanks to some useful interference from The Shield. This group that calls itself the protector of justice has become a very familiar name, courtesy its interference in important matches, particularly in favor of Punk. While we still aren’t aware of who the mastermind behind Shield is, Punk has quite clearly maintained the fact that he isn’t behind the Shield. So who is behind this trio? Well, that is a question for later. But now, the important thing is that Ryback has lost all his title winning opportunities due to The Shield, and has quite rightfully gotten into action whenever the Shield is out protecting justice. He has made this fight personal and will want revenge, no matter what.

Looking at things from Ryback’s perspective, revenge is inevitable. Settling scores with The Shield is what Ryback now is on the lookout for. But the numbers game always gives Shield the upper hand. This is where Randy Orton and Sheamus come in. It is interesting that WWE has brought in Orton and Sheamus, as Sheamus in particular seemed to become stale with his old feud. It was wise that Sheamus was brought out of the title picture and put in against The Shield.

With Sheamus and Randy Orton on his side, it has now become difficult for The Shield to show their dominance like they did for the past few weeks. They are being pushed backward by these three, and it looks like we are going to witness a six-man tag team match between these two groups at the Elimination Chamber PPV.

Things can become a tad more interesting if this six-man tag match had some sort of a stipulation, making the feud even more interesting. However, this match can change a lot of things within the WWE – most importantly, the possibility of Orton turning heel. Orton could turn his back on the team and leave the match, allowing the Shield to win. This way, a feud between Sheamus and Orton can be set up.

The other possibility is Orton joining shield. Now this looks very bleak, but will still look quite prominent. Orton has been a part of two factions before, namely Evolution and Legacy, and a third one does seem a very good idea too. This way, The Shield can find a new leader and Orton can use the group to fight against Sheamus.

The Shield can also prove to be a hindrance to Sheamus and Orton, who are into the Royal Rumble. The Shield can help eliminate both these players, leading to the six-man tag team match mentioned earlier. As for Ryback’s revenge, I guess it will become a forgotten story, and get lost amongst the fiasco, and Ryback will start feuding with the Big Show after this.

While these seem to be the most likely outcomes, it is imminent that The Shield will either find help from Orton, or will find a new leader in the form of Orton. Irrespective of the end, the storyline seems quite hot to handle already, and fans can expect just anything to happen in between Ryback and The Shield in the coming weeks.
